## In one sentence

MLX turns the Macs people already own into one AI supercomputer: MLX Node runs AI work when the owner allows it, and the network rewards it in MLX tokens.

## Short description (50 words)

MLX is a community network that joins Apple silicon Macs into one AI computer. Owners install MLX Node, choose when their Mac works, and earn MLX for verified AI jobs. A dedicated seat reserves a Mac's place and sets its share of the rewards. The ledger, blocks and network map are public at mlx.app.

## Longer description

Hundreds of millions of Macs with Apple silicon sit idle most of the day. Their chips share fast unified memory between CPU and GPU, which makes them unusually good at running AI models. MLX gives those Macs a job.

The free MLX Node app runs small AI jobs in a sandbox, checks its answers against other Macs, and reports the work to the MLX ledger. The owner decides when it runs and how much it uses. Verified work earns MLX tokens. Dedicated seats (Nano, Lite, Core, Pro and Ultra) are bought once and pay nothing up front: they raise how fast a Mac mines, hour by hour; a Mac without one runs on a free seat. Everything is public: the explorer shows every block and transaction, and MLX World shows the Macs working around the world.

MLX went live on Mainnet on 18 October 2026.
