Seats mine. Hour by hour.
A seat pays nothing up front. It sets how fast your Mac mines MLX for verified AI work: a Core seat mines up to ~0.83 MLX/h.
How it works.
Every hour the compute pool pays the Macs that did verified AI work: up to ~0.33 MLX/h for every $100 of seat.
Mined MLX unlocks 3 to 20 days after the day it's earned with a dedicated seat (the smaller the seat, the longer the lock), or 30 days on a free seat.
A seat mines in full on a Mac of its class. On a smaller Mac it mines at that Mac's class.
3.5B MLX pays every Mac for AI work, hour by hour. Free seats share at most 10% of each hour; dedicated seats share the rest.

These are caps: each hour's pay follows the Mac's verified work, and every seat shares the hour's release from the compute pool. The whitepaper has the formulas. Read the whitepaper
